The Language of Opera
This residency will connect students to the art form of opera and will foster a more intimate relationship with language arts as they write and perform their own mini opera. Ms. Joseph works closely with the classroom teacher to select a text for the students to explore and use as the basis for their operetta. In addition to sparking an interest in working with language, this residency will introduce students to the historical significance of the artform in New Orleans, "The First City of Opera".
