Tracing the Path of the Clave
Nanette Ledet of Rhythmic Tapestries will present material, through music and movement, that traces the origins of our local musical traditions from their birthplace in West Africa. The students will learn music and dances from West Africa, Brazil, Cuba, and New Orleans. This residency is designed for 6 sessions, one hour duration for each session. It can be extended to 8 sessions, if requested. It is also appropriate for special needs children.
