Adventures in Film Making
In this comprehensive residency with actor / producer Terence Rosemore, students will receive an overview of the vocational opportunities in the Film industry, including salary range, job qualifications, educational and skill requirements needed to compete for jobs in the following departments; Hair/Makeup, Wardrobe, Camera, Grip/Electric, Production Design, Props, Special Effects, Accounting, Legal, Administrative, Catering, Production, Editorial, Marketing, Creative, and Transportation. Students will learn the basic principles of film production through workshops and hands on experience. The students will then create an Anti-Violence Public Service Announcement video, and a short Documentary.
Each student will participate in several mini workshops, and then choose which department or departments they would like to focus on for the class projects. Thus giving the instructor and the student an opportunity to see first hand what area interests them. In some cases students will be able to work in more than one area depending on need and class size.

About Terence Rosemore
Terence Rosemore is an award winning Producer, Director, Screenwriter, and Actor who has worked with some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry including Robert Duvall, Halle Berry, Don Cheadle, Laurence Fishburne, John Hurt, and William Hurt.
He is the CEO of Out Of Nowhere Productions, a multimedia company that specializes in creating content for Film, Television and the Internet. His Producing/Directing credits include the Katrina documentary My People, which premiered at the Museum of African Diaspora in San Francisco as part of its I’ve Known Rivers exhibit and the critically acclaimed documentary, Transforming The Dream, which aired on ABC Television.
Rosemore has written and directed second unit footage for the feature film, The Yellow Handkerchief starring William Hurt, Maria Bello and Kristen Stewart and served as Showrunner /Producer for the cable television pilots Emerald Acres (Comedy Central) and Sho-Nuff (The Halogen Network).
Refugees, his groundbreaking web series, has been featured on NBC/Universal's website DotComedy.com, ChannelMe.Tv, and picked as an editor's choice on Columbia/Sony's Crackle.com.
As an Actor, he has appeared in over thirty Feature Films and Television movies including, The Apostle, Candyman 2, A Lesson Before Dying, Dark Angel, Pride and HBO’s Treme.
He has also appeared on stage in various theatrical productions in New York, Europe and Asia.
In addition to his creative endeavors, Rosemore is active in the community teaching Filmmaking to at-risk teens in New Orleans and Los Angeles.
Rosemore says his ultimate goal is to “Significantly increase minority and female involvement in all aspects of the Arts and Entertainment industry”.
Born in Great Falls, Montana, he was raised in New Orleans. He currently lives in Los Angeles and New Orleans writing, producing and developing Film, TV and Web based projects.
