Patti Pelican and the Gulf Oil Spill

Patti Pelican and Sammy Seagull from the Salty Seas Series get caught in the aftermath of the Gulf Oil Spill. The oiled companions are rescued, cleaned and released.

Former journalist turned children's author, Lynda Deniger teaches the importance and value of preserving and protecting our environment. By involving students in reinactments of rescue and cleaning projects, engaging them with singing and science activities, and giving them the gloves and aprons to try it all out themselves. Students learn to actively participate in the preservation of wildlife.
