Young Audiences' innovative and engaging programming can be customized to meet your schools individual needs. Below you will find a selection of programs offered by Young Audiences' trained teaching artists. Please contact us for more information.

 

Artist: Toni B!
Travel the globe with master dance instructor Toni Batiste as she wows the audience with steps from the old world and modern dances. Students experience the music, dance and vocabulary particular to such varying regions as South America, Europe and North America.
 

Grayhawk draws students into another time period through stories and his original compositions of Native Americans. Students will become part of each story by portraying characters, singing refrains and learning a friendship dance.
 

The Panorama Jazz Band has adapted a special program of holiday songs from around the world that offer a unique musical and cultural experience. The program shows how music unites us all.
 

Halloween, Christmas, Mardi Gras, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, and Independence Day - find the story that's right for the season.

Students can't help getting caught up in Instant Theater with award-winning educator and director Frank Levy as he enlists audiences members as the cast and crew of a theatrical, historical or famous event performed on the spot.

This workshop is a beginner class for young people to establish a foundation for writing spoken word.
 

Ivoire Spectacle offers high energy performances demonstrating West African culture, dance, music, and instruments.
 

Celebrated local poet Chuck Perkins' distinctive lyrical flow pays homage to the great city he calls home, New Orleans. He walks students through many aspects of New Orleans culture in his own unique style, modeling just how cool poetry can be.
 

Students learn to distinguish different rhythms like traditional jazz, samba, rock and hip hop all while hearing the music of popular jazz musician Desmian Barnes

This interactive program uses humor and student participation to demonstrate successful strategies for increasing self-esteem and improving performance on LEAP tests.

Look Up! is an original play with three actors that addresses bullying, cooperation, tolerance, and ecology.
 

Colorful and courageous citizens who formed the unique city of New Orleans are brought to life by actors in period costume.
 

Artist: Carl LeBlanc
This program, developed by Carl Leblanc, traces Louisiana's performance art forms through song and dance. Students will sing and dance the Can-Can and Cajun two-step beginning with the Louisiana Purchase through the modern hip-hop steps of today.
 

Artist: Dave James
Mathematical melodies uses various songs to illustrate the deep connection between music and mathematics. Students count and clap along as they learn musical concepts that are closely related to adding, multiplying and dividing.
 

The MISTLETOES share the holiday spirit with traditional Christmas Carols, Hanukkah tunes & Holiday songs. Playing Silent Night, Frosty, Rudolf, The 12 Days of Christmas and more to kids eager to sing along with us.
 

Covering several genres in one presentation, Musical Diversity in India illustrates how the region's contemporary pop/film music and the classical traditions share origins in the ancient reverence for sacred sound.
 

As our flagship program, My City, My Home offers a comprehensive, inter-disciplinary set of lessons designed to give the students the tools that will enable them to become active participants in neighborhood planning, community development, and our city’s broader civic life.
 

Two singer/actors invite students to join them onstage during our lively 40-minute journey through opera’s “greatest hits.”
 

Trapped by oily goo, Patti Pelican and Sammy Seagull are rescued, rehabilitated and released by caring humans. This timely educational tool teaches the valuable lessons of protecting wildlife and the mportance of environmental stewardship.
