“I love getting lost in my little marks and swirling the colors on the page, or adding flowers and feathers to a headpiece and watching it form.”
Hometown? N/A
I'm a Military Brat...so I don't really have a hometown. My Mom lives in NOLA and my Dad lives in New Mexico where he retired from the Air Force after 23 years of service.
Years in New Orleans? 15.
I moved to NOLA June of 2009 to be near my mom.
What do you create? Visual Art.
Mostly, I create marker/pen drawings and then watercolor them, but I also create floral headpieces, costumes, wreaths, and many other crafty things.
Why do you create? The process.
My creativity stems from having extra time and seeing my husband create. I love the process and watching my little drawings come to life and shift from a blank page to a colorful "happy".
What is one misconception about your art form? It’s Hard.
Maybe that it's "hard to do"....starting is always the hardest part...but once I get myself set up and situated, sometimes it's hard to stop.
How does creating impact your work and daily life? Gives Me Peace.
Creating helps me to take my mind from my "thinking brain" to my "calm brain". I love getting lost in my little marks and swirling the colors on the page, or adding flowers and feathers to a headpiece and watching it form.
